Equity in Action is our bespoke course approved for up to 20 hours of CPD by the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. This course is designed for healthcare students, professionals, and educators looking to explore methods to becoming a more equitable practitioner and driving inclusive change. Equity in Action is delivered by Aisia Lea, Founder and Director of Anatome Education CIC. The course is asynchronous with 3 hours of videos structured into 12 chapters covering various aspects relating to equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) in healthcare and education: 1. Introduction 2. Introducing EDI in the Healthcare Context 3. Legal and Ethical Frameworks 4. Understanding Healthcare Disparities 5. Cultural Competency and Sensitivity 6. Bias Awareness and Mitigation 7. Inclusive Healthcare Practices 8. Addressing Mental Health and Wellness of Diverse Populations 9. Addressing Intersectionality in Healthcare 10. Building an Inclusive Healthcare Environment from an Organisation Perspective 11. Measuring Progress and Outcomes 12. Conclusions and Action Plan Each chapter has a dedicated recommended reading section as well as learner activities designed to empower those seeking to take the next step in advocacy and inclusivity. To suit differing needs, finances and available time, there are 3 course levels which provide different CPD hour allocations and requirements.
